Mata Amrita Ananda Mayi - "AMMA"

This is My Guru (Spiritual Teacher) - Mata Amrita Anandamayi. In the United States She is called Amma - which means Mother in her native language of Malayalam (the only language name that is a Palindrome). Amma Has pledged to help those victims in the USA, India, Sri Lanka, Africa, Haiti and recently in Japan.

Amma has inspired innumerable humanitarian activities all over the world. Some of them are free food and clothing programs, charitable hospitals, hospices, disaster relief programs, free homes for the poor and the needy, medical camps, orphanages, schools, educational institutions, widows' pension plan, free legal advice, preservation of nature and so on. The list is long and growing everyday. Amma says, " Compassion to the poor and the needy is our duty to God." Through the example of her own life Amma has inspired people from all over the world to walk in the path of selfless-service and compassion towards all beings. Amma has been well known for her humanitarian outreach over the course of 30 years. The world media has taken notice of her efforts, with stories in prestige media, including TV, print, and radio. Amma returned to Los Angeles in Mid June 2012 and is currently touring the united States. Amma has absolutely Free programs for the public and the best part is you don't have to do anything to see her except.... Amma's Tour of the west starts in Seattle in late May, then she will be in the Bay Area in early June. from the bay area Amma comes directly to Los Angeles. Amma will be at a Major Hotel sometime in Mid June for FREE Public programs and a Paid 3 Day Retreat that is really special. MEETING AMMA - DARSHAN

The Sanskrit term darshan means, "vision", and it is used to describe the meeting with a holy person, especially a Self Realized master. Amma's darshan is unique. As the embodiment of supreme motherhood, she welcomes every person who comes to her, listens to his or her problems, offers advice and guidance, and brings reassurance to a troubled heart.
Over time, Amma's popularity has risen to the point where in India she has been known to individually hug over 50,000 people in one day, sitting sometimes for over 20 hours. Amma travels all around the world to receive all her children around the globe.
