The Gumball has been a go-to toe stop choice for roller skaters in the derby community for years. The rubber blend in Gumball’s derby toe stop is what gives it the consistent grip and wear resistance necessary for a range of surfaces. That includes (but is not necessarily limited to): 

• Indoor rinks
• Finished wood
• Outdoor concrete
• Sports tile
• Masonry

The classic Gumball shape provides a broad, flat stopping surface, giving skaters reliable contact with the floor on each step. 

Choose Your Hardness

75A – For better control. The 75A is a softer rubber compound. The grip works well on indoor surfaces, and it provides skaters with responsive braking. For derby skaters who spend most of their time on rinks or wood floors, this is the preferred hardness. 

83A – Better wear properties for outdoor and park skaters. This is the firmer Gumball hardness. You’ll have a little less grip than the 75A, but you’ll have more durability. The 83A is the better choice for skaters on outdoor surfaces like concrete and asphalt. It will hold its shape longer under heavy use. 

Choose Your Stem Length

Long (30mm) – Good for skaters wanting quick access to the awesome stopping power of the Gumball. With the 30mm, more of the stop sits closer to the surface. So, it’s easier to engage quickly and with more force. Works well for derby stops, T-stops, and skaters relying on toe stops as a primary braking method. The longer stem also offers more adjustability for dialing in your skating experience. 

Short (18mm) – Good for skaters looking for more clearance for tricks. The 18mm sits higher off the ground, keeping it out of the way for skaters who engage more with their footwork. So, it’s the better choice for jam, rhythm, and dance skaters who don’t want the toe stop interfering with quick movements.
